Polymorphic viruses encrypt or instruct themselves in a different way using different algorithms and encryption keys every time they infect a system.

File Infector Virus;-
This type of virus infects programs or executable files. When one of these programs is run, openly or not directly, the virus is activated, producing the damaging effects it is programmed to carry out.

Companion Viruses:-
Companion viruses can be considered as a type of file infector viruses like resident or direct action types. They are known as companion viruses because once they get into the system they go with the other files that already exist.

FAT Virus:-
The FAT is basically a chart which contains numbers that correspond to cluster addresses on a hard drive. FAT virus attacks the FAT section and may damage crucial information.  A FAT virus can be rather dangerous as it infects a critical part of the computer's operational process.

The Software updation means an improvement in software.  Many of the paid software release updates before they are actually ready for general public. Following are the various Advantages and Disadvantages of the software updation.

Advantages

1. Security: The foremost advantage is for reason of security. If we make any weak spot, there is a possibility the illegal hackers could (also known as crackers) may steal or damage data and programs. Each software provides tools for security and the user should understand the level of protection automatically.

2. Bug Fix: Second advantage is bug fix or fresh appearance of the software

Disadvantages

1. The main disadvantages are that you might get some new bugs, some of which could even stop you from using older data files. In some cases, software updates may actually be intended to stop a user from doing things that the user found helpful. For example, an early iTunes update stopped users from uploading content from their iPods in order for Apple to have better control of the content purchased from their iTunes store.

2. Another disadvantage of upgrading is that you may have to take time to re-learn portions of the software. Some items may have moved, and some tasks might be done in different ways.

3. A disadvantage is if the update has not been thoroughly tested, especially if there's an interaction with the software you might have running on your system.
